Neck lift

Neck lift aesthetic surgery is performed to correct neck and facial aging signs such as Marionette lines, jowls and neck contours by firming neck muscles, removing excess skin and supporting saggy tissue.

Usually, the incision is made in front of the earlobe, around and behind the ear and into the lower scalp. With this technique the scar is practically invisible. There is an additional smaller incision underneath the chin.

During this cosmetic surgery, Dr. Dragana Spica undermines the skin and the strong connective supportive tissue or SMAS. With neck lift procedure, Dr. Spica also creates a better support for neck muscle otherwise known as platysma. Any excess fat is removed under the chin.

Neck lift is an effective procedure for contouring and rejuvenating the appearance of the neck.

Neck lift can be safely combined with other surgical procedures like brow lift, face lift or blepharoplasty.

Who is a good candidate for neck lift plastic surgery?

You are a good candidate for neck lift plastic surgery if you are generally fit and healthy and have realistic expectations from the surgery.

A neck lift is an effective solution for you if you have a double chin, wrinkles, and creases on your neck and your jawline is poorly defined.

On the other hand, if you have a history of blood disease, diabetes high blood pressure or a tendency to develop abnormal scars, you may not be a good candidate for this procedure.

What are the different types of neck lift?

Liposuction - This is the best option if your skin is still elastic and you have pockets of fat under the chin. Dr. Dragana makes a small incision under your chin to suction the excess fat tissue and contour your neck.

Anterior neck lift – Dr. Spica creates a small incision under your chin and shapes the tissue in your neck. She then puts the skin over the tissue and makes your neck appear more youthful.

Extended neck lift - This procedure is combined with a facelift for even more effective results. Dr. Spica creates an incision under your chin, in front of your ears, and along your hairline. She reshapes the tissue in your lower face and neck area and removes the excess skin.
