  • The appropriate amount of Botox to be injected varies per individual and is determined during a consultation with Dr. Dragana Spica. Usually, upper face treatment starts from 50 units up to 100 units depending on the individual signs of age and expectations. A minimal approach, commonly referred to as baby botox, a natural or a frozen look can be achieved depending on the units of botox used. The number of units differs between women and men.

  • Dr. Dragana works exclusively with Allergan due to the high quality and safety of the product. 

  • The procedure is done in maximum 5 minutes to reduce discomfort, without numbing cream application. If numbing cream is utilized, an additional 15 minutes should be considered.

  • The procedure is nearly painless, Dr. Dragana Spica employs the best techniques to minimize any discomfort. Numbing cream can be used as an option if it makes you feel more comfortable.  

  • There is no recovery period, botox is a minimal invasive treatment that may leave little swelling and redness over the areas injected that may look like a mosquito bite and will subside within 1 hour. Very occasionally some bruising may happen due to the injections. Some soreness may occur in the injection sites for a few days.

  • Botox starts to act on the muscles immediately after injection, full effect will be noticeable within 10 to 14 days. 

  • Botox typically lasts between 3 to 4 months. Some patients may experience the effects to last longer, in the 4 to 6 month range, while others may find it wears off sooner, around the 2-month range. High metabolism, high-intensity activities, sun exposure, stress, and alcohol consumption are some of the factors that may reduce the botox effect.

  • Botox touch-up can be done within 10 to 14days from the application. This may not be necessary to all cases, depends on each individual response to the botox. Muscles may react differently to botox application and may start to act faster on one of the sides of the face, within 14days this effect should subside and resuts should look even.
